The 2025 Academy Awards mark the grand finale of the awards season. Fad dressing was nowhere to be found on the best dressed of this year’s red carpet; rather, superchic, ultra-glamour won out. Topping the list was Demi Moore, who glistened in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé crystal-embroidered gown with a plunge neckline and pleated hip detailing, complete with dramatic train. She also led one of the big trends of the night: metallics.  Another such trend was corset construction, and the winner of the category goes to Ariana Grande. Her Schiaparelli couture gown, inspired by an Alberto Giacometti lamp, featured more than 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones and cut beads. This modern sculptural marvel was the perfect choice for the finale of this Glinda-inspired press tour.  Related Articles Celebrity News Elle Fanning Channels 1950s Glamour in Givenchy Dress for Oscars 2025 Red Carpet Celebrity News Fernanda Torres Carries Family Legacy on Oscars 2025 Red Carpet in Embroidered Chanel Look Also in a soft pink was Monica Barbaro, in a custom Dior gown. The pleated A-line floor-sweeping skirt and beaded bra top was one of the more modern looks of the night — without compromising in old-school glamour.  You May Also Like Selena Gomez also opted for beads, in her case a custom Ralph Lauren gown. This was her Marilyn Monroe moment. The gown was crafted by a team of 12 artisans with handsewn Rosemont crystals and more than 16,000 glass drips. Hard to get more glamorous than that. Her slightly wavy bob haircut and smoky eye were the perfect drop-dead, va-va-voom beauty touch. Cynthia Erivo took a “go big or go home” approach to her Oscars look with a custom Louis Vuitton dark green velvet bustier gown with a collar and bow detail and full skirt. Nicolas Ghesquière is known for being a master of sculptural and playful volumes, and Erivo was a perfect match — and the look seemed to reference the famous hat worn by her “Wicked” character as well.  When it comes to fashion news, Elle Fanning was at the top of the list, premiering the first red carpet dress from Sarah Burton for Givenchy. Inspired by Hubert de Givenchy’s first collection in 1952, the gown in French Lyon lace and silk tulle had a molded corset and Watteau caped back. It also nodded to Julia Roberts’ Valentino gown from 2001 — one of the most classic Oscars red carpet moments. Also choosing Sarah Burton for Givenchy was Timothée Chalamet, who wore a custom butter yellow leather double-breasted cropped jacket with matching trousers and silk shirt. His was one of the most fearless menswear looks of the night. One of the best dressed of the more traditional men was Adrien Brody, who opted for a Giorgio Armani made-to-measure midnight blue one-button peak lapel tuxedo. He accessorized with a beautiful diamond and emerald pin, which added a touch of novelty.
